The BYD Seal (2022–present) is a battery-electric mid-size sedan built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, aimed squarely at the Tesla Model 3 and similar EV sedans. The entry RWD version uses a single 150 kW rear motor producing 310 Nm, paired with a 61.4 kWh LFP Blade Battery for a WLTP range of about 460 km. It uses Cell-to-Body (CTB) construction, integrating the battery into the vehicle structure for added rigidity and safety. The cabin features a rotating central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster and a well-appointed interior for its class. In Bangladesh the Seal is not yet officially launched and reaches buyers mainly through private and reconditioned imports.

BYD Seal Overview

The BYD Seal is a battery-electric sports sedan positioned for buyers in Bangladesh who want a Tesla Model 3 rival with a distinct design identity. It suits young professionals and tech-forward buyers moving up from a premium petrol sedan into their first EV. Its sedan proportions, low stance and sporty handling give it a different character from the more common SUV-shaped EVs entering the market, appealing to buyers who value driving dynamics alongside efficiency.

BYD Seal Features

Standard features include a large rotating touchscreen, a digital driver display, dual-zone climate control and a comprehensive ADAS suite with adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Higher Premium and Performance trims add genuine leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, a premium sound system and additional convenience features such as memory seats.

BYD Seal Motor

The single rear motor delivers smooth, linear power delivery typical of a well-tuned EV, with enough punch for confident overtaking despite this being the entry variant in the range. The rear-wheel-drive layout gives the Seal a more engaging, balanced feel than many front-driven EV rivals. Compared to similarly priced EV sedans, the Seal’s Cell-to-Body construction contributes to a stiffer chassis and a settled ride, while the Blade Battery’s LFP chemistry is prized for its safety and longevity over repeated fast charging.

BYD Seal Variants

The Seal lineup spans a base Dynamic RWD trim with the 61.4 kWh battery reviewed here, a Premium RWD with a larger 82.5 kWh battery for extended range, and the dual-motor Performance AWD flagship with 390 kW and a 3.8-second 0-100 km/h time. Higher trims add V2L capability, faster DC charging, and extra comfort and safety equipment, while all versions share the same CTB platform and Blade Battery safety credentials.
