BMW X2 Overview

The BMW X2 appeals to younger buyers in Bangladesh who want a sportier, more individual alternative to the X1, with a coupe-like profile and all-wheel-drive grip. It sits as a distinctive, style-led option within BMW’s compact SUV range. Since this generation is no longer in production, it is typically sourced as a well-kept reconditioned import, appealing to buyers who want a lightly used premium SUV at a lower price point than newer BMW models.

BMW X2 Features

Standard equipment on the F39-generation X2 includes BMW’s iDrive infotainment system with a touchscreen display, a reversing camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED headlights. M Sport trims add sport seats, a leather-wrapped M steering wheel, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Driver-assistance options available on higher trims of this generation include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and parking assistance with front and rear sensors.

BMW X2 Engine

The B48 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder in the X2 is tuned for stronger response than the entry-level X1 variants, giving the car brisk in-gear acceleration and a noticeably sportier character. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system biases power to the rear wheels under acceleration, giving the X2 more of a rear-wheel-drive feel than its front-wheel-drive-based platform would suggest. Compared to similarly sized performance crossovers like the Audi Q3 35 TFSI, the X2 feels more eager and playful, at the cost of slightly firmer ride quality.

BMW X2 Variants

The F39-generation X2 was offered globally in sDrive18i/20i and xDrive20i/25i/28i petrol forms, xDrive18d/20d diesel variants, an xDrive25e plug-in hybrid, and the range-topping M35i performance model. The xDrive28i tested here was primarily offered in North America and select other markets. Higher trims within this generation add M Sport and M Sport X styling packages, larger wheels, dynamic damper control, and a lowered sports suspension compared to the standard specification.
